NBA Playoffs

Ever since I've moved to Texas, I've become a Spurs fan. And ever since LeBron James has entered the NBA, I've hated the Cavaliers. The NBA Playoffs started sometime in April and the Spurs were up to face the Dallas Mavericks. This was a good match-up for the Spurs in the first round. The spurs eventually won the series and are now playing the Phoenix Suns. The Cavaliers played Chicago in the first round and eventually won in 5 games. I hope the Cav's lose to the Boston Celtics in the 2nd round so I can see LeBron cry like a little baby. The only reason I dont like LeBron is because he is too good and I dont want him to achieve more than Michael Jordan.

Summer

Today is my last exam and my last day to be here at TLU. I had to wake up at 8:30 today for my last exam (English). It wasn't too hard for me to wake up, but for some reason I felt super tired. Probably cause I stayed up to late last night. I'm super excited for summer but kind've down knowing that I wont be chillin with any of my new friends until next year. It's all good though, I'm sure sumemr will fly by really fast and the next thing ya know we're back at school. I hope everybody has a save and exciting summer. And for those over achievers taking summer classes, Good Luck.

Easter

Easter is probably one of my favorite times of the year. When I was younger I used to wake up to a basket full of candy and sometimes a new video game. But since I've gotten older the Easter bunny leaves me less and less candy. This past Easter I recieved a basket full of of candy, but no video game. I went to my girlfriends house and ate so much food. Her dad barbequed fajitas, sausage, and chicken, while her mom made rice, potatoe salad, and some real good sweet tea. My favorite thing to eat on Easter is definately the deviled eggs. MMMMMMMMM. After we ate, we hid all the eggs for the little kids to go and hunt. Then we played kickball and busted a pinata that was full of candy! When the day was over I was found laying on the couch breathing very heavily! I was so full and honeslty did not want to move at all.

Movies

I've watched many movies of all types of Genre. I remember being around 4 years old and wanting to get The Power Rangers movie on VHS. And when I was around 12 I wanted to see The Italian Job and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Over the 7 years that I have been been getting older, I've watched movies from the 1970's, 1980's and '90's. Movies such as, The Godfather from the '70's; Breakfast Club, Ghost Busters, and Back to The Future from the '80's; Forrest Gump, Titanic, Dumb and Dumber, and The Mask from the '90's. Personally, I enjoy the movies from the 1990's over the movies from the '70's & '80's. I think it's crazy how we go from watching Barney and Power Ranger movies to watching Superbad, Pineapple Express, and The Hangover. I LOVE IT!

Life at TLU

Living on campus here at TLU is not as bad as people may say it is. The positives of living on campus vary. Being away from the parents is a plus. But living from parents when I could use some money is definately a negative. Life in Seguin is actually kind of similiar to life in George West. Even though Seguin is a bigger town than George West, there is less to do here. Somedays when I feel somewhat homesick, I just go drive around in the "country-side" of Seguin. If I could change one thing about TLU, I would have to relocate the University into a bigger town with more to do. Overall, I enjoy going to school here at Texas Lutheran University, and I hope Seguin eventually gets more things for me to do.

Relating to small town life

Some people consider Seguin as a small town right outside of San Antonio. But to me, Seguin is a big city just south of San Marcos. To many students here at TLU consider campus to be a small school. But since I graduated with approximately 100 kids in my senior class, I consider TLU to be a big school. I went to school in George West, TX, which is a town of roughly 2500 people. In school and around town everybody new eachother, some teachers there graduated from there and have lived in George West all there life, 50% of the mexican students are related, as well as 50% of the white students are related. Now at TLU, I still struggle with remembering names, students here are from all over the world, and I doubt 50% of two different races are related. An odd thing about George West and it being a small town, the High School had 5 pairs of twins. The culture wasn't diverse, there was 60% whites, 39% mexican and 1% African American. We had more twins than we had African Americans!
