Life at TLU
Living on campus here at TLU is not as bad as people may say it is. The positives of living on campus vary. Being away from the parents is a plus. But living from parents when I could use some money is definately a negative. Life in Seguin is actually kind of similiar to life in George West. Even though Seguin is a bigger town than George West, there is less to do here. Somedays when I feel somewhat homesick, I just go drive around in the "country-side" of Seguin. If I could change one thing about TLU, I would have to relocate the University into a bigger town with more to do. Overall, I enjoy going to school here at Texas Lutheran University, and I hope Seguin eventually gets more things for me to do.

As a third generation Texas Lutheran student, I have heard many a story about Seguin. One thing that both my parents and my grandparents have said is how much has changed since they were here. For instance, there was no Wal-Mart, no McDonald's, no Taco Bell when either of them were here. The only fast food places when my parents were here in the early 80's was Dairy Queen, but there were two or three of them in town. However, despite the changes, they have also mentioned how much has stayed the same. My advice to you, don't get your hopes up for any major changes anytime soon, but don't be surprised if new places do start popping up in town.
